Q. Can I drink the water? |

A. Yes you can, but it's not recommended. It is best to either boil the water beforehand or drink bottled water which is easily obtained and inexpensive. It is potable, but why take chances? |

Q. Cost of Living? |

A. In Taiwan, things are relatively inexpensive. Local food and clothing is cheap, as are local electronics. Rent runs around US$250-300 per month for a shared apartment. |

Q. Are there any deposits for phone or apartments? |
|
A. In most cases yes, varying with the type of accommodations, but Taiwanese are very honest about returning deposits. |

Q. Can I take my pet with me? |
|
A. You can, but it is probably going to be in quarantine for 6 months. You also have to worry about shots and that there is virtually no place to let your pet roam. |

Q. What clothes should I bring? |
|
A. Taiwan is runs warm in winter and really hot in the summer. bring cool summer wear and lighter outer garments for the winter. Also be prepared for rain. During the rainy season in July, it rains a lot. Also - unless you are the size of an average Taiwanese, you might have difficulty finding larger sizes. |

Q. Can I get Internet access? |
| A. Yes, it is possible. You can choose from many Taiwan ISPs, for access to existing email accounts and some of the schools are already connected so you can connect that way as well. |
