Our Language Programs

Kojen believes that by immersing students in English , students will develop the ability to think and communicate in English quickly and effectively. As little Chinese is spoken as is possible. As much as possible, classes are taught completely in English.

Our Adult classes are between 8 and 20 students. Our Child classes are from 8 to 25 students. Our average class size is about 15 students. Every student gets to speak, and gets individual attention from their teacher. Teacher and all the students know each other's names. Our students get to be friends united in learning English. Many of our students develop life long friendships with their classmates and teachers as a direct result of this intimate, personal approach to learning.

Every one of our students is tested prior to ever entering a class. Each student is placed in the right level class based on their present fluency, listening, grammar, and vocabulary skills.

When students enter an Kojen classroom, they know that learning is going to be different at Kojen. Our classrooms look different because they are different. We rearrange the furniture to reflect different group sizes and conversation types. For half or more of every class, Kojen students are up and moving around, practicing conversations, and participating in activities. Our teachers don't just stand in the front of the class; they are always moving, monitoring, encouraging, and helping students succeed in learning English.
